James Hand established, owned and operated a small dog kennel while attending college between 1991 and 1999. James Hand was the owner, operator, manager, and sole proprietor of the business. He bred, trained (obedience and conformation), and showed Old English Mastiffs (Mastiffs). The kennel was licensed by the county, and at one point, it was the only Mastiff-breeding kennel recommended in the state of Michigan by the Mastiff Club of America. James Hand used knowledge gained while attending accounting and computer classes in college to automate the business record keeping procedures. He developed and published the original Armageddon Mastiffs' website, which began in 1996.
