	In 2000 James Hand established and began maintaining jameshandus.com jameshandus.com was established by James Hand as a small freelance web design company. The primary focus of the company has always been the design and maintenance of websites for small businesses. The business began as the result of interest in the internet and internet technology as well as knowledge gained at VisionAIR (formerly Vision Software), in Castle Hayne, North Carolina. While at VisionAIR James Hand gained unique experience and skills fulfilling various job descriptions, including: Software Developer, Network Engineer, and Software Support Technician. James Hand was also a founding member of the Project7 Web Development Group (2000-2002). jameshandus has grown to become a team of freelance members who participate in our various projects as required.

The total number of sites developed thus far exceeds 50.

     This endeavor requires an advanced knowledge of Action Script, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, VBScript, CSS, and other programming codes. The primary development tool is NoteTab (a plain text editor) and all sites are "hand-written" in advanced HTML and CSS code. Secondary web design tools and graphic programs are utilized as needed. A number of graphic programs such as PhotoShop, PaintShop, Fireworks, and Corel Draw are employed as applicable. Interactive content is developed using programs such as Flash, Swish, and DreamWeaver.

     The best way to describe the development approach is that the work of the Graphic Artist is required to make the sites visually appealing, while simultaneously, serious validated HTML programming must be implemented to make the site technically correct. Technical accuracy is required for maximixing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques, to ensure full web traffic to each client's site, and thereby ensuring profitability.

     Usually a unique personal relationship with each customer evolves due to the time allocated to learning and understanding the basics of each business model to better understand their daily operations and recommend specifics for their sites.
